Kaden's birthday is next weekend! He will be 3 years old... I can't believe that he is already 3. It really does seem like a few months ago that we celebrated his 2nd birthday. We are getting ready for his big party next weekend. We are doing a cowboy theme I think...It all depends on the decorations. We haven't looked around too much yet, but I feel like it may be hard to find cowboy themed party supplies....I pictured bails of hay around the yard, checkered table clothes, and other random stuff. Not sure what is going to happen with all that yet. Mike and I haven't had a chance to get out alone to look into any of this. I will be fun though and I'm looking forward to this...
Mike had the day off yesterday and we went to the Avila Barn again. It's so cute how much the boys love it there. Austin especially is really into feeding the animals and gets quite a kick out of it. When Kaden was this age, we were going to the barn several times a week, just because Kaden loved it so much. I got several really cute pictures there, including a video of Austin feeding the goats.

We took Austin to his 18 month check up last week...He is doing great! Here are his stats...
18 months
height: 33 3/4" (85th %)
weight: 25lbs (45th %)
He is tall and skinny just like his brother!
funny story: While chatting with Dr. Macias, we were telling him about Kaden telling that little girl his name was "Kaden Barack Obama" (a couple posts down)...We were all laughing and talking about how silly and smart he is. Then we told him how Kaden told his Papa Lew that Austin's name was "Brother Keith Byrum", Kaden was listening and says "NO! His name is Barack O-Brother"!!! ha ha ha! Dr Macias couldn't believe him. He said it was crazy for him to #1 know who Barack Obama is...#2 for him to make a joke about it! He was laughing because you could almost see Kaden's little mind working to find something witty to say! God, I love those boys! I have a strong feeling that things won't get too serious in this household, I have some silly boys here...

Avila Barn March 20th 2009
I took the boys to the barn yesterday for the first time since it opened this year. The boys had fun. There is nothing new and exciting, it's exactly like it was last year. Same stinky animals... Ha ha! The boys really love it there though. Austin especially. He was pretty upset in the car until he saw where we were going, then he starting giggling. It was super cute. He loved feeding the animals this time. I took a few pictures...

Kaden
We had to take Kaden to the doctor the other day for his foot (he hurt it rough housing with his Daddy)...While waiting in the waiting room this little girl came up to Kaden and said "I'm Alex! What's your name?" Kaden kinda chuckled and said "I'm not gonna tell you, I'm a bigger kid!" I told Kaden that wasn't nice and to tell Alex what his name was...Finally he says..."I'm Kaden Barack Obama" Totally out of the blue... We have talked about Barack Obama obviously and Kaden does know that he is our president, but I have never heard him tell anyone that was his name. Today he even said "Our old president was Barack O-Bush"! ha ha! How funny is he?!!!

Daddy of the year
I seriously have the best husband...Yesterday he spent the entire morning mowing the lawns and maintaining our pretty little yard. Then he did 3 loads of laundry... I really need to learn to appreciate these little things he does for us. He works so hard, with little sleep and great determination to provide for his family. He is the best. He loves me when I don't love myself and is constantly telling me how perfect I am for him. He comes home everyday from work and before he can even change out of his work clothes, he has our little boys climbing all over him, begging for him to build them forts, play hide and seek, or play monsters. This leaves no time for himself most days. I just love him beyond words. Thank you for the sacrifice you make daily. You will never be able to understand how much we love you and appreciate you!
