Kaden makes zucchini bread!
Kaden loves to help me cook. Anything really...he just wants to be a part of it. So last Thursday we decided to make zucchini bread. Kaden literally won't even touch vegetables, so I thought this would be a good opportunity to get him to eat something green! He was pretty excited about being able to help me and literally asked all day when we were going to make it. Finally after dinner I had everything ready to go...Here is Kaden with his apron on, getting ready to bake!So I measured out all the ingredients and he got to help me dump everything in the bowl. Then he got to stir the dry ingredients toghether. As you can see below, he took the job very seriously...
He was super excited to use our mixer to combine the dry and wet ingredients. We had to wait a full hour for our bread to bake, which was torture for a 3 year old. However, when the bread came out of the oven, he was really proud...Here is the finished product.

A little update
Not sure if anyone even really reads this...BUT I have not been very good at blogging lately. It's been hard to find the time.I'll keep this short and sweet. I have lost 14lbs in 4 weeks. For the first time in a LONG time I feel proud of myself, other than being proud of my family of course...But this time I of proud of ME and that feels good. The boys are doing great. Kaden is hilarious these days and keeps us laughing all the time. Austin is also getting incredibly verbal. He is really starting to tell us what he wants. They are adorable and I am so blessed to have them. I couldn't imagine life without them...
We are so happy to have Joel and Shannon coming this weekend to visit! It's been so long since we've seen them. Mike is so happy to get to golf with his best friend... I am happy for him. He misses his close friends a lot and it makes me happy when he is happy. Plus I happen to think Joel and Shannon are pretty amazing too! Can't wait to see you two!

We have had quite a lot going on the last few days...The night before last Kaden would not go to bed. He kept coming out of his room complaining of a belly ache, he does his quite frequently if he just doesn't want to go to bed. We kept sending him back to bed and telling him that he needed to go to sleep. Finally after the 20th time of him coming out I went in his room and sat on his floor and he threw up....Ugghhh...I felt SO bad. He just wasn't acting sick at all. I let him come out on to the couch with me and he fell asleep out there. He has been fine ever since. He says he drank too much bath water...nice! He also went to the dentist today to have his second check up. He did so good!!! He was doing everything the hygentist said to do while she was cleaning his teeth. He did really great with the dentist too. He said everything looked good but that Mama needs to help him with his brushing a little more...The dentist told him that, so maybe he may be a little more receptive of me helping him... We'll see how that goes tonight. Overall, it was another positive experience there. We have done nothing but make the dentist fun, so he hasn't had any negative associations with the dentist yet...Hope that continues for awhile. Austin goes in for his first appointment in May.
DURING
I decided on Easter Sunday that I was going to do something to get happy and healthy again. Throughout my life I have always been pretty active. I played sports all my life and it really wasn't until I started beauty school in 03' that I stopped working out. Soon after I met Mike and the rest is history...I have gained some weight over the last 6 years. Between being in love, having babies and being a busy Mom, I put myself on the back burner. In turn it has made me an unhappy miserable person. Sometimes I can hide this pretty well. However, the people closest to me often get the brunt of my unhappiness. So I started Weight watchers. Never in a million years did I ever think I would need to do this. I just was overwhelmed with the idea of having to lose more than 20lbs and needed the accountability of knowing that someone else would weigh me every week. The first week I lost 10lbs...I was so stoked. It was an amazing start and I know that finally I am on my way to reaching my goal of feeling good again. I am just super excited about it. Mike has been amazing. So supportive...I love so much for being there for me and not giving up on me. Stay tune for more updates on that....

Boys will be boys...
My husband works with two guys who have boys very close in age to Kaden and Austin. Last night we had them over for dinner so the boys could play. The boys had so much fun and did very good sharing their toys. Here are some of the pictures that we took of the boys...So cute!

A day out with the family...
Yesterday Mike had the day off and it just so happened to be BEAUTIFUL out. So we decided to take the boys out on a little hike. We decided on Montana De Oro and headed out to Pt. Buchon. As you can see above, it was breathtaking out there. So pretty. Kaden walked the whole way and Austin really just wanted to sit down and play with dirt and rocks so we had to put him in the stroller. We really couldn't go that far out because we had a toddler on foot, but we made the best of it, had a snack out there and took some great pictures. After we got home we thought the boys would take a GREAT nap...NOPE! Austin fell asleep in the stroller out there and woke up when I tried to transfer him to the car. Kaden fell asleep on the way home and then woke up when I was getting him out of the car...By then, both of them thought they had already taken a nap, even though Austin slept for maybe 20 minutes and Kaden maybe 15! We tried to lay them back down but it just wasn't happening. So we got out Kadens new sprinkler that he got for his birthday and just let them play in the water in the backyard. Evening was a little tough, I'm not gonna lie. Two exhausted, sun soaked toddlers is kinda of a recipe for disaster....We fed them early and tried to get them down early. Austin woke up once about 15 minutes after he went down, but slept the rest of the night. Kaden didn't end up falling asleep till almost 9!!! He kept coming up with excuses to get up...Silly boy. Overall, it was a great day. Here are some more pictures of our day!
