A long overdue update....

It's been awhile since I have posted an update on here and so much has happened in the last few months. Since my last update, I have turned 29! Mike and I had a chance to get away together for an overnight trip to Santa Barbara. We stayed at the Inn of the Spanish Gardens. It was absolutely beautiful and a total retreat for us. It was 24 blissful hours away from the kids and we made every minute count!

+ Our hotel....

May was a really busy month. We had a pretty big scare at the end of the month when my Momma ("Grammie") had a stroke. It was a really little one and she is on her way to a full recovery, but needless to say it was very scary for everyone and it made us all appreciate life much more. Especially Grammies!

My Dad and Diane went away to Mexico for 2 weeks at the end of May and we stayed at their house. It was really nice to have all the space and Kaden loved being able to go out and play in his sandbox.

We took Kaden to his first rodeo at the end of May. When we first arrived, Kaden was a little apprehensive. He didn't know what a rodeo was...I wasn't sure how he would like it, I didn't know if he would be scared or if he would be concerned when the cowboys fell off the bulls. Turns out he was way more interested in climbing the bleachers and looking at all the people in the stands than even looking at the bulls. Overall, we all had fun until some drunk guy fell forward behind us and couldn't get up. It was then that I decided it was time to go home...

So far the month of June has been an exciting month full of changes! We applied to rent a 3 bedroom 2 bath house at the very beginning of the month and WE GOT IT!!! We are moving in on the first of July, so needless to say, we have been insanely busy packing and getting organized to make that move as smooth as possible! This house has a big front and back yard and it will literally change our lives!

Now, for the most important update...The kids!!!! Kaden is 2 years and 3 months and he is really learning how to express himself. He really has a sweet personality with a whole lot of attitude. He talks from the minute he wakes up to the minute he goes to bed. He is really enjoying cars, trucks (especially garbage trucks), tractors, dirt, tunnels, and making forts with his Daddy and brother. He and Austin continue to get along very well and are now playing together a lot! Austin is now crawling everywhere, pulling himself up to a stand and really turning into a big boy!!! We just had his 9 month check up and he is 30"long and 20lbs! He's still in the 95th percentile for his length and 40th for his weight. Both of them are very long and lean! Overall they are both doing extremely well and are obviously happy! We love them more and more everyday and we are thrilled to be able to give them a house to live in! So many changes ahead for them, we'll see how they do.

Hopefully next time I won't have so much time to catch up on. Things have been busy for us! Mike and I are just busy trying to be the best parents we can, and it consumes almost all our time. We look forward to a summer filled with sunshine, weddings, Tahoe, and lots of family time. Hope everyone is well and doing good!

Love to you all!!!

XOXO

My two birthday boys....

Kaden turned two this last weekend! Seriously, where did the time go?! He had such a good day! We decorated the house for him the night before with "Happy Birthday" banners, balloons, presents, so when he woke up in the morning he knew right away that it was a special day.
I told him we could go anywhere he wanted to go and he chose the Avila Barn. This is one of his favorite places to go, he loves to feed the animals and just walk around and look at the other kids.
He was so happy all day. Everywhere we went you could just tell that he felt like a special birthday boy. That night we went out to dinner to McLintocks with our family. The staff sang him happy birthday and gave him a giant bowl of icecream. He even blew out the candle.Words can't express the joy that I had in my heart, I could only imagine what it must have felt like to him. His party was on Saturday and we wanted to make sure it was low-key and mellow because we figured he would be pretty worn out from Friday. He was... The party went really good and he really loved it. I can't believe we will be celebrating Austin's 1st birthday is just 5 months! Now that is weird!! Just wanted to update everone!!!

Today is Mike's Birthday!!!!!

I love you my perfect husband! You are my world and you are the best father to our boys! XOXO

and here are a few new pictures of Austin, who will be 7 months on Saturday!!!!

Just some recent pictures that I love and an update....

My sweet little Kaden...almost 2!

Little Austin hamming it up again!

Serious boy-after his shots yesterday...

I could kiss this face all over...the sweetest!

Here's a little update:

Austin is up on his hands and knees and he acts like he is about to take off! Any day now he will be crawling!! I can't believe it!!!What a sweet little think Austin is though, he smiles and belly laughs constantly. We love him more everyday and we are seeing his little personality emerge! The other night Kaden had to go on time out for something he did to Austin and when Kaden came up to him to tell him sorry, Austin grabbed on to his hair and started pulling on it! It took Kaden by surprise and he was like "HAIR HAIR!" Mike and I looked at each other and just chuckled because it's already starting! We had Austin's 6 month check up yesterday! He is 17lbs 13oz and 27 3/4" long! Still a big boy. He is in the 50th percentile for his weight and 90th for his length. Doctor Macias says that he looks great and that he is very cute...of course! He had 3 shots, so yesterday was not his best day. He seemed fussier than usual last night and he did have a fever last night during the night. I hate shots!!! Poor little guy even cried before he had the shots like he remembered from last time. It was heartbreaking and as always I had to TRY not to cry myself. Kaden watched with a very concerned look, but deep down I think he was just happy it wasn't him. Kaden was really sweet to the doctor and gave him "five" and knuckles and proceeded to jump almost the entire appointment. It's his new thing...Dr. Macias was really impressed that he catches such air when he jumps, he said most kids don't learn to jump that young. Kaden even gave him a hug when he left the room. Overall, Kaden is amazing and hilarious. Last night he snuck a bite off the cutting board and when he put it in his mouth he said "DELICIOUS!" It was the first time Mike and I heard him say that. We laughed about that for a good half hour. These boys of ours are just a light in our lives and everyday we try to enjoy them and the age they are, because we all know how fast it goes by!!! Easter is this Sunday! Can't wait to see how the boys do with everything! Happy Easter to everyone!!!! XOXO The Byrums....

Marchey march....

Austin 5 months

Kaden 23 months

Wow, it's been awhile since I have posted an update on here! Sorry, we have been so busy as usual! Things are really good. The month of Febuary flew by... and I can't believe that we are already in the middle of march!!! Ahhh! Time needs to seriously slow down. Kaden is almost 2! He will be 2 next month. He is saying more and more words everyday and he is my little mockingbird. He repeats everything. Like most 2 year olds, his new favorite word is "no", of course. He continues to surprise us with his outgoing personality and also his love for his baby brother. He loves Austin more than I ever thought he would, it is the sweetest thing to catch him kissing his brother on the forehead when he thinks nobody is looking. Austin loves Kaden too and smiles pretty much the instant he sees him. It makes my heart melt. I can tell they are going to be close buddies. Austin is 6 month tomorrow!! Another shocker....that just seems crazy to me. He is also doing remarkably well. He is trying really hard to crawl, but has yet to get up and move on his hands and knees. He scoots and rolls all over the place and I'm continually leaving the room and coming back finding him far from where I left him. He is starting to be on the move!! He is really really sweet and smiley little guy too!

Mike and I finally got to get away by ourselves this past weekend. We took a little trip to LA and saw a Laker game. We had a really fun time together, just being able to have a conversation without being interrupted was really nice too! We stayed over night in a really pretty hotel in Agoura Hills and then headed home on Monday. It was short but sweet and we really enjoyed ourselves!

Hope you feel updated! XOXO Love, the Byrums

Rain, rain go away!!!!

I think it's about time for an update!!! Nothing real exciting has been going on...In fact, it's been a little difficult with all the rain trying to keep the kids entertained, especially Kaden. He loves being outside and playing with dirt, rocks, anything that will make him dirty basically. It's been hard explaining to him why he can't go outside. He has done surprisingly well though, we've just been coloring and playing with his toys. He really likes hide and go seek now, so we have been doing lots of that too! Overall, things are good. Mike and I decided last week that I would work just one day a week. That way we will have two days off together again and Mike can actually do something for himself too. So, yesterday he went golfing. I was happy that he could do that, he deserves it! He works hard for us! Austin is turning into a little boy! He now plays with toys and is way more interactive. I swear he says "Momma" too! :) Just let me think that alright!!! Kaden and Austin have started to play together a little bit and it is just the cutest thing ever!!! I love it. Hope everyone is well!
